Proclamation by Mayor Randall for:
Butler Longhorn Museum’s Wild West Show & Grand Opening Day

This project began in 2003, when the 10 acres site was purchased by the City of League City for the Longhorn Museum & Heritage Park. Today the museum is open five days a week, holds tours regularly and has educational programs are in effect.

The Butler Longhorn Museum - Heritage Park & Educational Center highlights the Butler cattle while exhibiting the history of the Longhorn Breed. The museum documents the multi-cultural heritage of the region through farming and ranch histories. Western history, art and sciences are demonstrated and preserved throughout the museum and the educational programs.

The Texas Gathering & Wild West Show is a special day for the museum. The event celebrates the Grand Opening of the museum and our Western heritage through music, art, reenactments’ and various Western talent shows. We are appreciative of our friends at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show, Kevin Black, our League City Sponsor's and the many Longhorn Breeders, who have continued their support throughout the past several years.
The Director of the museum is Jennifer Wycoff who is supported by the Butler Longhorn Museum Board of Directors; Bette Specion, Cindy Schnuriger, Jane McFaddin, Anita Butler, Joann La Cognata, Teresa Vencil, Kaso Kety and the many volunteers and donors who have given their time and talent towards the project.
